Sam had planned to propose to Ashley at one of their favorite restaurants. It was so sweet of him to make sure everything was in place for the main event. Arguably the bigger surprise was that he had planned a trip to Disney World for the two of them...leaving straight from the restaurant to the airport!

This wedding was all about enjoying time with friends and family. There was a lot of catching up and conversation, and some intense Dance Dance Revolution and card games at the end of the night. There were so many warm details, including the dress Jessica's mother handmade for her, and the Skype chat with her brother who is overseas and could not make it. Jessica & Eric were so easygoing and gave me complete creative freedom to document their special day.

Spending the weekend with my friends Karen & Austin in beautiful fall Asheville weather made this an extra-special and fun session! We toured the famous Biltmore Estate and hiked up to the top of a mountain, where they bravely climbed onto the edge! The gorgeous scenery was a photographer's dream and we stopped very often for photo ops. Be sure to check out Benji's (the dog of honor) big moment toward the end!

I love Corgis. And I was extremely excited to get to meet Toby the Corgi pup/teenager and her humans Shannon & Richard. She kept us on our toes with her almost-boundless energy. I love when humans bring their furry family members on these shoots; it's almost impossible to come away without some good moments!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with this adorably sweet couple in Asheville. We almost had to reschedule due to rain, but the cloud passed just in time. In case you noticed why Heather is not wearing an engagement ring...well, her fiancé David got her an engagement baby grand piano instead! (It was a little too heavy to bring to the session, but would've made some amazing images.) I love unique proposal gifts!

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, this sweet couple and I were still able to find some beautiful photo ops around UNC. Eric just finished up his Ph.D program at the School of Public Health, which also happens to be a lovely building! I'm very excited to be capturing their ceremony in beautiful Banner Elk (near Asheville) this weekend. Fingers crossed that we will have lots of gorgeous sunshine!

A Tar Heel wedding! This couple went to UNC so it was perfect that their ceremony was right on Franklin Street, followed by celebration at the historic Carolina Inn. I shot these for my friend and fellow photographer Erin Costa.
